From the bus stop take the old street through Wulai village. The road crosses the river at the end of the old street. Cross the street after the bridge and climb up the stairs to the mini-train station.
The mini-train goes for a bout 2km to a small village across from Wulai Falls.
The small village across the river from the falls has some souvenir shops, eateries, and a gondola that goes to the top of the falls where there is a park with a few old attractions.
To reach Niedong Falls keep following the road straight out of the village, through a tunnel, and around the bend in the river. Keep walking along the road until you come to a suspension bridge crossing the river. Cross here. This is the start of the Xinxian Trail, which is really more of an old road rather than an actual hiking trail.
The trail follows the river passing numerous small waterfalls along the way which have strange names. The largest of these is S-MERGI DAGI, which makes for a good spot to have a rest along the trail The trail ends at a small village. Walk through the village and you’ll come the car park for the falls. You have to pay $80 to enter the waterfalls area.
Neidong Falls are a short hike from the entrance. One way to the falls you’ll spot Xinxian Waterfall on the other side of the river.
Neidong Falls has two levels which can only be seen from viewing platforms.
